How 'Bout That Office...

Lonny is out (as if you didn't already know) and I have to put up Kelly Wearstler's office, if for no other reason than sheer awe and good juju. That woman is a force, a pure storm of mogul-power: design, bedding, accessories and now fashion. But her office is major, not like I would have expected less. This is the stuff designer dreams are made of because I think all of us go to bed at night with thoughts of something even an 1/8th (a 1/16th?) of what she has built.

I once read in Town & Country (I think?) what her favorite things were and in addition to glam bags and books, she was asked what she snacked on: "Seaweed and Fresh Fruit."

To this day it is a running joke on the job whenever the phrase "I want to be Kelly Wearstler" is muttered, because the answer is always the same: "We won't be. We will never reach for seaweed and fruit."

But I digress, her office is stellar and confirmed rumor has it she has been working on a large project on Mercer Islaaahhnd (as my brother-in-law pronounces it). Rumor also has it among the crew that she is a peach to work with and yes, I asked... she does bring her own snacks.

Manly Style

I'm a J Crew addict. It's not a secret. If I go into the store, I'm walking out with multiple bags. What can I say? It fits me and the pieces are workhorses. I must also confess that I'm dying to go to New York and see the wedding store. That would be dangerous for me even though I've been married for quite some time. I'm a sucker for weddings and I've made it quite clear to my little sister that when the day comes, a trip to NY for the J. Crew wedding shop is a mandatory.

So I'm adding the New J. Crew Men's shop to my retail bucket list. I'm loving the design almost as much as their clothes. It has the right mix of masculine and modern. Like Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles... remember those button-down shirts with the jeans and boots? Yeah you do.

Jake Ryan for 2011 brought to you by Lonny Magazine. Thank you Lonny.

Dying...

I'm dying for the latest version of Lonny magazine. I've always liked Lonny, but this issue has me drooling. Seriously, there's so many good articles and rooms that I couldn't just pick one.
I can almost forget that I have to look at it online. Love the access to images and content online, but being very tactile I need to be able to flip through my magazines over and over. I always start with my magazine collection for inspiration when I start a new project. Each time you look you find things you didn't see before. Seriously - nothing gets between me and my magazines. Seriously.

Lonny... looks like I'm going to have to make a printed copy of you for my files. You may just edge out some of my traditional shelter magazines for inspiration. There are so many incredible designers and rooms that I couldn't pick just one to post about. Not to mention the J.K. Place hotel in Florence and Capri. That would have to be a separate post and I just don't have time today.

Keep up the good work Lonny. Love it. If you haven't experienced it yet, it's a must.
